Tiffany Washington is a native of Chicago, IL and has resided in the Bay for almost 2 years. She is the Program Manager for Anthem Blue Cross’ Medi-Cal plan and manages relationships with the Behavioral Health Department, Public Health Department, and special programs that support Anthem’s Medi-Cal members in Santa Clara, Alameda, San Francisco and Contra Costa County.
Having worked with the Medicaid population for over 12 years she understands the importance of connecting the under-served to resources and helping them navigate the social service/health care system. As a parent herself she finds it important to advocate for one of the most vulnerable populations, children.
Tiffany’s philanthropic work includes:
- Keep a Child/Senior Warm Coat Giveaway which provided over 1,000 coats annually for 5 years to underprivileged children and senior citizens in Chicago and gave them direct access to service providers and resources in their community.
- Back to School Fair which distributed over 300 backpacks annually for 4 years and provided much needed services like free haircuts, school physicals/immunizations, and information.
She served as Board President for Southwest Outreach Initiatives, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing information, counseling and education in an effort to help the less fortunate become self-sufficient, from 2012 to 2014.
She also served 2 years as Board Vice President for Bronzeville Lighthouse Charter School, a sole site Charter School in Chicago, from 2014-2016.
Tiffany believes strongly in the advocacy work of the Healthier Kids Foundation and is looking forward to being an asset to the organization and Board.
