10 Steps

10 Steps to a Healthier You

10 Steps to a Healthier You! is a free, five-workshop series for parents and caregivers that provides strategies for implementing healthy habits in the home through the delivery of upstream messages with the intent of providing primary prevention of childhood and adolescent obesity.

The primary program outcome is that attendees of the workshop series experience change in attitudes, beliefs, and knowledge as a direct result of the content provided during the health education workshops, which leads to their sustained healthy behavior change.

The curricula for the five-workshop series is based on The Expert Committee Recommendations Regarding the Prevention, Assessment, and Treatment of Child and Adolescent Overweight and Obesity” (Pediatrics Vol. 120 Supplement December 2007, p. S164-S192).
